Designing innovative, safe and useful products for children and families.

As the story goes, the Peanut Changer was born out of one unforgettable diaper emergency. Katie, our founder, was in a product development meeting when she got word that her husband was at home battling one of those dreaded diaper “blowouts.” Her dad, Tim—the mind behind Keekaroo Cushion technology—laughed and suggested her husband should try changing the baby on one of the therapy wedges from our Special Tomato line.
Everyone chuckled, but then Katie’s brother Jamie (our CEO) reminded the team that they’d tossed around a similar idea years before. That’s when Andrew, one of our first employees and close family friend, piped up to say he still had sketches of the idea that was shaped like a peanut. And just like that, the spark was lit—the Peanut Changer was born.
The team worked hard to bring it to life, and by 2012, the first Peanut Changer was ready—just in time for Katie and Matt’s daughter to test it out in the real world. One week later, on September 13 — National Peanut Day — the Keekaroo Peanut Changer officially launched. It didn’t take long before it became a must-have item on baby registries everywhere.
Over the next few years, the Peanut Changer racked up awards and recognition, from the Babylist “Best Award” to Parents Magazine’s “Best for Baby,” along with features on The Bump, Today’s Parent, the Skimm, PureWow, and more. What started as a family joke during a messy diaper change turned into one of the most-loved baby products on the market.

Made in the USA
Our Keekaroo cushion technology is not only unique, but it is also made in the USA. Keekaroo Peanut Changers are made in Dolgeville, NY. where Keekaroo is a proud and involved member of the local economy.
The Keekaroo story begins in 1967, when our founder Tim Bergeron was a student developing a new type of therapeutic equipment for children. He found this research both exciting and close to home. His daughter was born with Down syndrome and he wanted more than anything to help her live a comfortable life. From his research, he discovered many children in the juvenile market could benefit from these products as well.
Tim enlisted the help of his son Jamie, daughter Katie and and many people from the small town Tim raised his family in, and soon Keekaroo was born. Our Peanut Changers offer a more comfortable experience, more support, and a soft, easy to clean surface for mom and dad.
